Knox Apiaries is a family business that began in southern Ontario in 1875. In 1959, the operation was moved to Nipawin, Saskatchewan where we could focus on honey production.
The honey produced is water white in colour, with Canola, Red Clover, Alfalfa & Borage as the main floral sources. In the busy season we employ up to 20 people in the field, and extraction process.
We also provide pollination services of speciality crops.
Over the years we have grown from 300 hives in the 1800's to 2300 hives today. Knox Apiaries has shipped honey in 1kg. containers to shipping semi-truck loads to several countries worldwide.

Robert Allen (Bob) Knox was born in Orono, Ontario on February 9, 1938 to parents, Charles and Marian Knox. Marian owned and operated a restaurant called "Honey Hollow". Charles owned a mink ranch and later inherited bee colonies from his Father (Bob's grandfather). In 1959, Bob and 400 colonies headed west to Nipawin and the best honey producing area in Canada. This made Bob a third generation beekeeper. One year later, Bob returned to Newcastle, Ontario and on February 13, 1960 married Gayle Thomas (daughter of Fred and Lena). He brought Gayle back here to share in his new adventure and they have lived and been happy here for their 45 years together. More .....
